A FEW HELPFUL THINGS
Before you print.
Two pages. One little adventure.
Every download includes a child’s sheet and a grown-up guide. You can print only page 1 and read page 2 on your phone. Choose US Letter or A4 to match your paper, portrait orientation, actual size (100%). Use “fit” if your printer clips an edge. Black-and-white printing works well.
Follow your child, not a deadline.
Ages and times are starting points. Children can point, draw, speak or ask a grown-up to write. Each guide offers a gentler version, a small stretch and a natural stopping point. Be nearby, choose suitable materials and read each activity’s specific guidance.
Three ways to access downloads.
Free: no sign-in, email or payment. Paid member: use the email associated with your active paid Batteries Not Included membership and enter the code sent to that inbox. Free Field Notes subscribers do not qualify. A paid membership canceled at renewal keeps access through its paid period, as reported by Buttondown. Paused, unpaid, expired or past-due memberships do not qualify.
Book companions: these are waiting for future book editions that include a printed access code. No current edition includes one yet. When activated, a book code will unlock its matching companion; it will not unlock the whole library or a newsletter membership.
Your inbox, your access.
Member sign-in is for grown-ups. We use your email to check membership with Buttondown and send the one-time code through our email provider. We do not collect children’s information, upload completed sheets, add you to a mailing list, or change your subscription through this form.
Sign-in codes expire in 10 minutes and are single-use. Access sessions expire after 7 days and use a necessary secure cookie. Membership is rechecked before each member download. Expired challenges and sessions are removed automatically; request limits use a protected hash of your network address. The application does not log emails, codes or completed activities. Hosting and email providers may keep their own operational logs.
Use the sheets. Keep the credit.
You may print downloaded sheets for your household or your own classroom. Please keep The Sage Dad footer intact, and share the activity’s public page rather than reposting or selling the PDF. Book and member downloads remain subject to their access requirements.
Something isn’t working?
Check that your email matches the one used for payment, including any alias. Check your spam folder, then request a new code after one minute. For billing or email changes, visit Batteries Not Included on Buttondown. If verification is temporarily unavailable, the six free activities remain ready to download.
