BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Gather a few things.
This sheet and two or three crayons.
One useful question
“What little part keeps repeating?”
HOW IT GOES
- Draw a circle, then a line. Repeat: circle, line.
- Fill the next row with your own repeating pattern.
- Cover the final mark with your hand. Ask your grown-up what comes next.
Make it gentler
Alternate two colors; a grown-up draws the shapes.
Add a little stretch
Try a circle-circle-line pattern, then explain its repeating part.
A good place to stop
Give your pattern a silly name.
