BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Gather a few things.

This sheet and a pencil or crayons.

One useful question

“What could we say that is true and kind?”

HOW IT GOES

  1. Imagine a toy knocks down another toy’s paper tower. Nobody is hurt.
  2. Draw what happened. Practice saying it simply, without blaming someone else.
  3. Choose a repair to offer. The other person can say what they need.

Make it gentler

Grown-up acts out a small toy accident and models the words.

Add a little stretch

Explain the difference between an accident and what you choose to do next.

A good place to stop

Let the toys agree on one next step.
