BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Gather a few things.

This sheet and crayons or a pencil.

One useful question

“Which part is an invention, and which part could we investigate?”

HOW IT GOES

  1. Draw a unicorn designed for an imaginary place: a snowy forest, a cloud town or your own world.
  2. Label three features and explain what each is for.
  3. Write one thing you know, one thing you are imagining and one thing you would like to learn.

Make it gentler

Draw a creature and tell a grown-up one question.

Add a little stretch

Compare a feature with a real animal using a grown-up-selected book.

A good place to stop

Choose one question to explore together later.
