The Sage Dad · Everyday play
One low-ink printable activity sheet. Designed for home or classroom use.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Gather a few things.
This sheet, crayons, flashlight, 2-3 small objects, clear wall, dim room.
One useful question
Who is in charge of this town? What do they want?
Children practice shape recognition and storytelling.
Make a story with light and shapes.
Shadow play is storytelling with light.
What children will do
Make an imaginary town from the shadows of familiar objects.
How to guide the activity
Point a flashlight at a clear wall and use familiar objects to make the town’s shadows. Give each shape a place or a character in the story. Move one object and ask how its shadow changes; keep the light away from eyes.
Make it gentler
Make one shape only and give it a name and a job.
Add a little stretch
Create a before and after: lights on vs. lights flicker. Show the change.
A good place to stop
Your town goes to sleep. Turn off the flashlight and say goodnight to each place.
