BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Gather a few things.
This sheet, four sheets of scrap paper, masking tape and a ruler.
One useful question
“What stayed the same so this was a fair comparison?”
HOW IT GOES
- Use two sheets to make a tower that stands by itself. Measure its height.
- Use the other two sheets for a second tower. Change one feature, such as the base.
- Stand both on the same surface. Record height and whether each stays up for ten counts.
Make it gentler
Build one short tower together and describe its base.
Add a little stretch
Repeat each test three times. Explain whether your result stayed the same.
A good place to stop
Draw the design you would build again.
